Shingletree/Clover trail lollipop loop

Start: Porterwood
Difficulty: Advanced

Start at the Porterwood terminus on the Allegheny Highlands Trail (rt219 north just before Parsons)

Go south on AHT until you see a ramshackle looking house on your right.  Almost straight across from the home, across 219, you will see the trailhead sign for Shingletree trail.

The trail rises steeply from the creek but levels off to a nice bikeable grade shortly.

Follow the blue blazes and signs signifying Shingletree until you reach a paved road.

Take a left on the pavement.  Travel approximatley 3/4 of  a mile until you reach the bridge that crosses the creek.

Just this side of the bridge there is a wide spot on the left.  To the back/right of the wide spot Clover run trail takes off up through the woods.

The trail is blue blazed and easy to follow.

Continue until you reach the intersection with Shingletree trail.  Now continue down the way you came up.

A long wonderful WV singletrack downhill, the reward for a hard days work.

15 miles round trip.
